New EVP of Customer Experience at Green Man Gaming

We’re excited to announce that Sam Bennett has joined Green Man Gaming as EVP to head up our brand new Customer Experience and Communications department.   The new department covers Community Management, Customer Support, PR, Communications, Influencer Engagement (our Content Creators), Content (for our Newsroom, this blog and our Games Hubs) and Social Media.

Sam brings his extensive experience of managing and engaging communities as well as customer relationships globally at top gaming brands including EA, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Activision.  He is a passionate gamer and has hands-on experience of working in senior Community Management and Customer Relationship positions on key game titles including Call of Duty Elite, LittleBigPlanet and the FIFA franchise in the past.  Most recently, his role as Community Director at Edge Case Games saw him drive strong community engagement for “Fractured Space” as it moved into Free to Play.

Sam’s deep understanding of the gaming community globally and experience of successfully improving customer engagement is highly valuable to Green Man Gaming as we grow our newly launched Green Man Gaming Community. As a passionate gamer who understands our audience and a well-respected community expert in the industry, we look forward to working with Sam to make sure we put our customers first at all times.

Paul Eibeler joins Green Man Gaming as Board Advisor

Former Take-Two CEO to support Green Man Gaming’s worldwide expansion plans

We’re happy to welcome Paul Eibeler to the Green Man Gaming Board today as Board Advisor.

As a gaming industry veteran, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge to the team through his experience of working at leading game publishers such as Take-Two as well as global distributors and platforms in the interactive games industry.

Whilst at Take-Two, publisher of successful game franchises including Grand Theft Auto, Civilization, NBA 2K and Bioshock, he led the company’s growth from $200 million to $1.5 billion in his role as President and later as CEO.

With his extensive experience in the gaming industry and success in managing high growth businesses, Paul is a great addition to the Green Man Gaming board. His continued passion for the industry and insight into game publishing and distribution will be invaluable to the team as we push forward our 2017 plans to grow the business worldwide.

Green Man Gaming to offer games on Lenovo Entertainment Hub

Today, we’ve announced our collaboration with Lenovo and Beyond Media to offer our store games on the new Lenovo Entertainment Hub.

This will give gamers the chance to purchase their favourite PC games directly from their Lenovo PCs through the entertainment hub with special offers and deals exclusive to Lenovo hub users.  On top of this, the hub will be able to upscale games into a VR experience.

The Green Man Gaming team recently demonstrated this storefront on the Lenovo Entertainment Hub at CES 2017 where it won a Best of CES 2017 Award from Windows Central.

We’re excited about working with Lenovo because we’re making some of the best gaming experiences available on PCs recognised across the industry for their quality, innovation and design. MCV Awards 2017 nominates Green Man Gaming for Specialist Retailer category

Green Man Gaming are finalists for MCV’s 2017 Specialist Retailer of the Year Award.

In its 15th year, the MCV Awards are the UK’s only computer and video games awards that recognise games retail, publishing, distribution, marketing, PR, events and media.  Each year the entries are peer-voted and judged by an independent panel of specialists.

The Award ceremony will take place on 9th March 2017 in London, UK and we can’t wait to see who wins the award! Fingers crossed!

Green Man Gaming have been shortlisted in the Retail Week Awards 2017. We are proud to announce that we are finalists for:

  • Growth Retailer of the Year at Retail Week Awards 2017 for all our hard work in 2016.

Over 22 years, the Retail Week Awards have championed and rewarded the finest achievements in the sector.  This year, the awards will be judged by highly influential retail experts including Mark Newton-Jones, CEO of Mothercare and Nigel Oddy, CEO of House of Fraser.

The Award ceremony will take place on 9th March 2017 in London, UK. We are thrilled to be selected as finalists and hope to report back with more good news after the awards.

Green Man Gaming appoints David Reitman as new Board Advisor

London, 21 December 2016: Green Man Gaming, a global e-commerce technology company in the video games industry, today announced that digital consulting leader, David Reitman, has joined the company as Board Advisor. David brings over 20 years experience of working as a senior consulting leader focused on digital transformation solutions for top brands worldwide including Amazon, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Sony PlayStation.

An industry thought-leader who has helped companies develop successful product, services and/or vertical GTM strategies and an expert in understanding and matching the commercial needs of a business with the right technology solution, David is invaluable to Green Man Gaming’s team as the company continues to roll out new features and products on their new platform to accelerate growth.

Most recently he served as a VP leading the consulting team in NA and EMEA for a global technology consulting firm, called CI&T. Prior he worked for SAP Hybris, a global market leader in marketing, customer experience and commerce solutions, as VP Global Head of Digital Commerce with responsibility for sales, product and marketing for the digital commerce business within SAP’s Customer Engagement and Commerce team. Before SAP, he worked at Digital River, a company that provides agency services, ecommerce, payment+tax reconciliation and supply chain services, supporting video game publisher clients. David and team were responsible for building the Origin platform for EA. David also worked as VP of Business Development at Gaikai, a cloud video game technology company, which was acquired by Sony PlayStation in 2012 and is now known as PlayStation Now.

Former JUST EAT CMO to support Green Man Gaming’s market positioning globally

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Mat Braddy, former JUST EAT CMO and marketing guru, as a Green Man Gaming Board Advisor today.

Mat brings his extensive experience of working in high growth companies and successfully raising awareness of challenger brands such as Green Man Gaming as we ramp up our global marketing activity.

He successfully positioned JUST EAT to become a challenger brand for cooking at home, making it a leading brand in takeaway delivery around the world prior to its IPO on the London Stock Exchange.  Previous to this, Mat was responsible for all online marketing at The Financial Times including FT.com and led the marketing team at Toptable.com.

Mat has demonstrated that he knows how to build a strong technology brand through both digital and traditional marketing campaigns with his experience of working with successful high growth online businesses such as JUST EAT.  As we continue to accelerate growth and expansion of the site through increased localisation, Mat’s experience and skills will be invaluable for our market positioning globally going forward.

Message to customers: Sorry about our slower than usual customer service!

Over the last few days, the demand for Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 on the Green Man Gaming store has been unprecedented. Our mission is to put the customer first and offer gamers a wide range of products at great prices. Our customer service team take pride in looking after our customers and we’d like to sincerely apologise to all those customers who we’ve been slow to respond to. We have put on extra customer service staff and are dedicated to making sure all our customer queries are responded to as soon as possible.  We recognise that it can be frustrating for some of our pre-order customers who were not able to play their games immediately but, we’re working through our tickets as fast as we can to ensure we help all our customers with their queries.
