By | Blog | No Comments

Green Man Gaming was chosen as a Finalist in the Emerging Retailer category at the Retail Week Awards 2018 late last year.

The Awards ceremony took place on 22 March 2018 at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, UK and although we didn’t win, we were very honoured to be a finalist and part of such a prestigious event for the retail industry, sitting alongside major UK retailers such as Asos, Amazon, Tesco, M&S and Next retail.

The Retail Week Awards have been a symbol of excellence for the retail sector for the last 23 years and we’re very proud to be nominated by the judging panel this year. The panel of judges felt that Green Man Gaming deserved to be a finalist in the Emerging Retailer category which celebrates young, growing retailers that have made waves in its market over the last year.

The full list of winners are available on the Retail Week Awards website.

Green Man Gaming Introduces Automatic Uplay PC Key Redemption

By | Press Releases | No Comments

Green Man Gaming have announced today that they have partnered with Ubisoft to be able to offer automatic Uplay PC key redemption for games on the Uplay PC client.

This means that instead of copying Uplay PC keys over into the Uplay PC client to activate a game after purchase, a button press will automatically activate the game on your Uplay account.

Green Man Gaming mention that this will not only make redeeming Uplay PC keys for Ubisoft titles easier, but it will also add an extra layer of security for the game Uplay PC key, as it will not be revealed at any point in the redemption process.

Paul Sulyok, founder and CEO of Green Man Gaming, had this to say of the new feature: “We are constantly looking to improve the experience of buying games for our customers. We know that the priority for any gamer is to be able to get to the game as quickly as possible without having to spend their time dealing with copying and pasting Uplay PC key codes, launching multiple clients and logging in to a bunch of different services,”

He went on to add: “We are always looking for new methods that allow our customers to purchase and play their games as quickly as possibly. Green Man Gaming’s integration with the Uplay PC client simplifies the redemption process giving gamers a fast, reliable and secure way to activate their Ubisoft games direct from Green Man Gaming.”

New Community platform on the way

By | Blog | No Comments

Following Green Man Gaming’s new site launch earlier this year, we have started work on introducing new community features to the platform.  We are currently transitioning our Playfire community to a new and improved community platform that will allow us to offer a richer and more engaging social community for gamers.

Our tech team have been working hard to rebuild a new proposition to make the community even better than what it is today whilst incorporating the best parts of Playfire and feedback from the community.  Their initial work on the backend, the database and integration with different platforms means that we now have a flexible and scalable platform that allows us to implement new community features and upgrades that we simply couldn’t do on the old Playfire platform.

Through feedback from the existing Playfire community, we will be continuously fine tuning the new community platform in BETA with more features and additions.  The platform is currently in development and being tested by Playfire mods and a select number of users.  Once this phase is complete, we will launch the new Community BETA on the new platform to everyone which means it will be available to over 5 million people in 195 countries.

Once we have fully transitioned to the new platform with all the features and upgrades, all existing community members will be notified in advance.

As of today, the community platform in BETA has basic features including a community homepage which includes all activity across the entire forum or buzz.  Users will be able to see what everyone is talking about and view their own activity in a separate tab.  Game pages will also feature a community section that will show overall community game stats and give users the ability to comment or start discussions about games.  All comments on the Green Man Gaming blog will also be available for comment on the master buzz.  A new profile is currently in development and will include the users’ bio and game data and achievement which will be updated automatically.

We are working on many more features and solutions to move across current Playfire content and profiles to the new platform. Watch this space!

In the meantime, we’ve answered a few popular questions from the community about this transition in our Community BETA FAQ.
